Check the suffix before you order
The base number A98L-0001-0524 is shared by a whole family of keysheets, and the letter after the # is what decides which machine it fits. #J is the fully populated 46-key 4-axis milling layout. The #K version is the 2-axis lathe layout and looks similar but has blank key positions - it will not suit a milling machine. Other suffixes in the same family cover Colchester, Cincinnati, Citizen, Hardinge, Makino, Mazak, Miyano, Okuma, Tornos and other machine builders.
Do not fit it to a 0T lathe panel - the #J and #K layouts are different and are not interchangeable. The #K version is the 2-axis lathe layout and looks similar but has blank key positions - it will not suit a milling machine and the two are not interchangeable.
Look at the code printed on the lower edge of the keysheet you are removing, or on the panel itself - it should read #J with OM beside it. If it does not, order the #K version instead, or ask us for the suffix you need.
Why it fails
Membrane keysheets perish in service. The legends wear off, the switch layer delaminates, or moisture gets behind the overlay and individual keys stop responding - usually the axis or mode keys first. Replacing the membrane restores the full panel without replacing the keyboard PCB behind it.
Brand and labelling
This is an aftermarket replacement built to the A98L-0001-0524#J reference, supplied under the PLCOME house brand (marked PLCOM on the panel). The photograph is of the item supplied. Fitment is determined by the printed suffix - match it exactly.
