The Unitta 600-5GT-20 is a synchronous (timing) drive belt with a 5.00 mm pitch, 20 mm wide and a 600 mm pitch length - 120 teeth. Unitta 5GT belts are made by Gates Unitta Asia, with a glass-fibre tensile cord in a rubber body on the strong-arc GT tooth profile. They are the standard replacement drive belt for CNC lathes and machining centres fitted with 5GT pulley systems, and are widely used on spindle drives, turret and axis drives and linear feed drives.
About the photograph: the image is a representative image of the Unitta 5GT belt range. The belt photographed is an 880-5GT - it shows the correct 5GT tooth profile, the rubber body, the glass-fibre tensile cord and the UNITTA branding, but it is not the size supplied with this order. The belt you receive is the 600-5GT-20 specified above: 600 mm pitch length, 20 mm wide, supplied as a pack of 3.
Check it fits before you order. 5GT is the strong-arc GT tooth profile at 5.00 mm pitch. It runs on Gates/Unitta GT and EV5GT pulleys and idlers only. It is not interchangeable with HTD 5M or XL belts, even where the tooth count matches - the 5M valley is radiused and the XL groove is trapezoidal, so a 5GT belt will ride the groove tips and can shear. Read the marking on your old belt (for example 615-5GT) or the marking on the pulley, and match the pitch length in millimetres as well as the tooth count: the same tooth count gives a different pitch length on a different pitch, so 615-5GT is 615 mm / 123 teeth while an XL belt of 123 teeth is 624.8 mm.
