The Cameron Sino CS-FN200SL is a 3 V 2000 mAh lithium manganese dioxide (Li-MnO2) backup battery for Fanuc CNC controls. It is a drop-in replacement for the Fanuc A02B-0200-K102 battery — FANUC internal code A98L-0031-0012 — the cell Fanuc specifies for the Series 16i/18i/21i control unit, the Power Mate i, Panel i, Digital Servo Adapter and Stand-Alone units.
Check the part number before you order. The number is printed on the battery you are replacing. This battery is correct where the existing battery reads A02B-0200-K102, A98L-0031-0012, A98L00310012, LX98L-0031-0012, FDK CR8-LHC or CR17540SE-RL. If your battery carries a different code it is a different part — send us the code and we will confirm it.
What it protects. The battery backs up the SRAM in the control unit: machine parameters, the PMC ladder program, tool offsets, macro variables and absolute position data. Fanuc's own i Series maintenance manual warns that if the cell is flat, all of that data is lost when the control is powered off — and that the battery must be swapped within 30 minutes with the power off (or with the power on if that is not practical).
Fitting it. Power the control on, wait about 30 seconds, then power it off. Take the battery cover off the top of the main CPU board, disconnect the plug, fit the new battery and reconnect it. Refit the cover. No tools needed and the job takes a few minutes. The correct connector is already fitted to the battery.
Safety. This is a primary (non-rechargeable) lithium cell — do not attempt to charge it. Do not disassemble it, short the terminals or expose it to more than 60 °C, and insulate the terminals with tape before discarding it. Store it away from heat and direct sunlight.
